Las Vegas Roulette Rules

Las Vegas Roulette differs from European Roulette (both French Roulette and Roulette Monte Carlo) in that it uses what is known as a "double zero" wheel. By Las Vegas Roulette rules, the wheel must have 38 slots labeled 00, 0, and numbers 1 through 36. A European wheel, on the other hand, does not feature the "00."

Otherwise, Las Vegas Roulette rules are much the same as those for its European counterparts, save for the French en prison rule.

Las Vegas Roulette rules dictate that players begin by making bets against the house by placing chips in various boxes or on the lines between the boxes on the layout table. In a casino room, players have until the ball starts to slow down within the wheel and the dealer calls out "No more bets!" to keep betting.

Players make what are known as inside and outside bets, which differ according to the number, number grouping, color, and so forth, on which players bet. A variety of inside and outside bet options exist to make the game interesting. For specific details on bets, see Las Vegas Roulette Betting.

When playing roulette online at Casino Elegance, the "Spin" button will not become active until at least one bet is placed on the layout. Players can then place additional bets, modify existing bets, or move chips from one location to another. The "Re-bet" button will place the same amount of chips on the same bets you made on the previous spin.

Once all desired bets are placed, players click the "Spin" button to spin up the wheel and release the ball. After a few seconds, the ball begins to fall toward the centre as the wheel slows down. When the ball comes to rest in one of the slots all bets are settled.

The result of each spin is displayed in the tally board on the right side of your screen, with the most recent results appearing at the bottom.

In accordance with Las Vegas Roulette rules, losing bets are cleared from the layout and winning bets paid according to the following table:

Here are a few other Las Vegas Roulette rules that do not apply to online roulette but are good to keep in mind when playing in a casino room:

  • Players cannot touch chips on the layout once the dealer has called "No more bets."
  • Players should not toss chips onto the layout since they may disturb others' bets. Instead, place chips carefully.
  • When the dealer has marked the winning number, players must not touch it.
  • It is considered polite to tip the dealer.
