Online Keno Games

As is so often the case with games that have been around for a while, Keno boasts its share of variations. First and foremost, know that Keno has moved into the online realm, so these days you have a choice between online Keno games played in a casino room or online from the comfort of your own home.

What follows is a rundown on some specific online Keno games or, rather, variations:

Video Keno

Of course, among the variations of online Keno games is Video Keno. Found in casinos, Video Keno resembles a slot machine and offers faster play than you would find in a live game. Another difference: unlike regular Keno, Video online Keno games are a solo experience. There are no other players, making it an appealing choice for those who want to play on their own.

Cleopatra Keno

Cleopatra Keno is a video variation of Keno. If the last number drawn contributes to a win, the player wins 12 free online Keno games. Then, on top of that, all ensuing wins in those free games are doubled. Note, however, that the player cannot earn additional free games from those 12 games. Not surprisingly, Cleopatra Keno is quite popular among the online Keno games.

Power Keno

Power Keno hails originally from Australia. While it follows all the same rules as regular Keno, it offers one special twist at the game’s end: if the twentieth number drawn matches one of the player's picks, then the player’s winnings are quadrupled.

Super Keno

Super Keno is similar to Power online Keno games. The focus, however, is placed on the very first number, not the twentieth. So if the first ball drawn matches one of the player's picks, the player's winnings on that Keno game are again multiplied by four. Of course, if you do hit on the first number, you’ll likely be extra attentive waiting for the other numbers to come through—to calculate your quadrupled winnings!

As long as you’re learning about the different online Keno games, you should take note that there are also different kinds of Keno tickets that contribute to the game’s excitement:

Straight Ticket Keno

As the most common Keno ticket, a Straight Ticket just requires players to mark their numbers—from one to 15—and then wait for the draw.

Split Ticket Keno

A Split Ticket is similar to a straight ticket, but it allows the player to play two or more online Keno games on the same piece of paper, or ticket.

Way Ticket Keno

Likewise, Way Ticket Keno allows a player to play several online Keno games at once on the same ticket, but it gets a little more complex. With Way Keno, the player chooses at least three groups of different numbers, all with the same number of spots, to create more than one way to win. For example, the player might pick three groups of numbers, each consisting of four numbers. This would be called a 3/4 Way Ticket.

Combination Ticket Keno

Combination Ticket Keno is similar to Way Keno in that it allows the player to combine groups of numbers in different ways. The groups do not have to contain the same number of spots and can be combined in any and all possible ways.

For example, if you have chosen three groups with four numbers each, you can pair these groups to form three different sets of eight numbers each, and then combine all three groups to form a single set with a dozen numbers. This would be a 3/4, 3/8, 1/12 Combination Ticket.

It sounds complicated but with a little practice, you’ll get the hang of it.

Multi-race Keno

If you don’t want to run to the Keno betting booth as soon as a game is over, you can choose to buy a Multi-race Keno Ticket. The ticket is good for 20 online Keno games, with the same numbers selected of course. This means a more leisurely experience, with the player then able to cash in any winnings after the 20 games. Of course, once you’ve chosen your numbers and begun your 20 online Keno games, you cannot change your numbers.

King Ticket Keno

One other type of ticket is the King Ticket, which uses a single “king” number, circled by itself, in combination with other number groupings. It can be used on Straight, Way, and Combination tickets.
