Play Baccarat

So the allure has finally won you over and you feel the strong desire to play Baccarat? It's not an uncommon story. Centuries old, with a long and winding history, Baccarat has truly stood the test of time. A traditional favorite of the rich and aristocratic, Baccarat is associated with money, style, and sophistication. When you choose to play Baccarat, you're joining the ranks of kings, queens, and, of course, James Bond. If you're hesitating, wondering if this is really the right game for you, fear not. In reality, anyone can play Baccarat, and online Baccarat makes it just that much easier!

Really, your goal is clear-cut. When you sit down to play Baccarat, the dealer will deal out two hands, a Player's hand and a Banker’s hand. Even if there are multiple players at the Baccarat table, the dealer will still only deal these two hands. You simply have to decide, and bet on, which of those two hands will score closest to nine points. Although you are technically a player, you are allowed to bet on either the Player or the Banker hand. You may also bet that the hands will tie.

Every hand is dealt at least two cards but no more than three. Whether or not a third card is dealt depends on very specific rules, which are outlined in How to Play Baccarat.

Scoring takes a bit of getting used to because some of the card values differ from the norm. Face cards and Tens count as zero when you play Baccarat. Aces count as one, and the remaining cards count as their face value. To figure out your score, add the card values in your hand. If your score contains two digits, only the second one counts. For instance, a score of 10 is really a zero. (Baccarat takes its name from the Italian word "Baccara," meaning zero.)

Remember, Baccarat is a game of pure luck. It offers good odds for the player compared to other casino games, but skill and strategy will not help you here. All you have to do is decide which hand to bet on, the Player's or the Banker’s, or whether it will end in a tie. If you’re feeling lucky, Baccarat is the game for you.
